Joe A. Smith | Physical Therapist

Joe A. Smith is co-owner of Physical Therapy in Motion, LLC and has an extensive background in the sciences, education and physical therapy. Joe earned his degree in Physical Therapy from Rockhurst College in Missouri where he was named the Outstanding Student of his class in 1991. Joe also claimed academic honors while he acquired a degree in Education from Pittsburg State University. Joe's physical therapy work experiences include private practice, hospital based practice, long term care, home health, outpatient, early childhood intervention, and regional rehabilitation services coordinator.

Professional Associations
Joe is active in many professional associations and groups including the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) where he is a former President of the Montana Physical Therapy Association (MAPTA) and former Chairman of the South Central District. Joe is currently a member of the APTA's Pediatric Section, Private Practice Section, Geriatric Section, and he actively participates in his profession's Governmental Affairs. Other professional activities have included Past Chair of the MAPTA Ethics Committee, Board Liaison to the MAPTA Nominating Committee, Montana University Physical Therapy Board of Visitors committee member, and a member of the Great Falls Physical Therapists Assistant Advisory Board.

Activities and Hobbies
Joe enjoys several activities outside of his profession. He has been part of a successful Mt. McKinley summit expedition and is a former president of the Kansas Boy Scouts of America High Adventures Explorers and MO-KAN Explorers. As a member of the National Ski Patrol, he has been named the Beartooth Outstanding Patroller, on several occasions. In college, Joe was 3-year letterman and played for a National Football Championship.
